Saga ( 佐賀市 , Saga-shi , Japanese: [saꜜɡa] ) is the capital city of Saga Prefecture , located on the island of Kyushu , Japan . As of 30 April 2024 , the city had an estimated population of 227,138 in 104354 households, and a population density of 530 persons per km . The total area of the city is 431.81 km (166.72 sq mi).
