Motala ( Swedish pronunciation: [ˈmûːˌtɑːla] ) is a locality and the seat of Motala Municipality , Östergötland County , Sweden with 43,717 inhabitants in 2024. It is the third largest city of Östergötland, following Linköping and Norrköping .
