Brøndby Kommune ( Danish: [ˈpʁɶnpy kʰoˈmuːnə] ), a municipality ( Danish : kommune ) in the former Copenhagen County (now Region Hovedstaden ), is on the east coast of the island of Zealand ( Sjælland ) in eastern Denmark .
