Kanta-Häme ( Finnish pronunciation: [ˈkɑn̪t̪ɑˌhæme̞(ʔ)] ; Swedish : Egentliga Tavastland ), sometimes referred to by the obsolete Tavastia Proper or as the Häme region, is a region ( maakunta / landskap ) of Finland . It borders the regions of Southwest Finland , Pirkanmaa , Päijät-Häme , and Uusimaa .
