Saint-Claude ( French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ klod] ; Guadeloupean Creole : Senklòd ) is a commune in the French overseas department of Guadeloupe . It lies in the interior of southern Basse-Terre Island , just northeast of the capital city of Basse-Terre.
