Mitidja , ( Arabic : متيجة , Berber : Mettijet ⵎⴻⵜⵙⵉⵛⵝ) is a plain stretching along the outskirts of Algiers in northern Algeria . It is about 100 km (62 mi) long, with a width of 5 to 20 km (3.1 to 12.4 mi).
