The Free Officers ( Arabic : حركة الضباط الأحرار , romanized :  Ḥarakat al-dubbāṭ al-ʾaḥrār ) were a group of revolutionary Egyptian nationalist officers in the Egyptian Armed Forces and Sudanese Armed Forces that instigated the Egyptian revolution of 1952 .
