The General Intelligence Service ( Arabic : جهاز المخابرات العامة Gihaz El Mukhabarat El ‘Amma ; GIS), often referred to as the Mukhabarat ( Arabic : المخابرات El Mukhabarat ) is an Egyptian intelligence agency responsible for providing national security intelligence , both domestically and internationally.
