Naqada ( Egyptian Arabic : نقادة ‎ Naqāda ; Coptic language : ⲛⲉⲕⲁⲧⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ Nekatērion ; Ancient Greek : Παμπανις Pampanis , Ancient Egyptian : Nbyt ) is a town on the west bank of the Nile in Qena Governorate , Egypt, situated ca. 20 km north of Luxor .
