Ahmednagar district (Marathi pronunciation: [əɦ(ə)məd̪nəɡəɾ] ), officially Ahilyanagar district, is the largest district of Maharashtra state in western India. The historical city of Ahmednagar is the headquarters of the district. Ahmednagar and Sangamner are the largest cities in the district.
