The Belene Nuclear Power Plant ( Bulgarian : Атомна електроцентрала „Белене“ , romanized :  Atomna elektrotsentrala "Belene" ) is an abandoned nuclear power plant 3 km from Belene and 11 km from Svishtov in Pleven Province , northern Bulgaria , near the Danube River .
